Sana’a Reveals Its Conditions for Extending Armistice


Iran entered on Saturday; the mediation line to extend the armistice in Yemen. This coincides with the approaching end to armistice, amid indications on a military escalation.

Iranian media revealed the details of a phone call made by Ali Asghar Khaji to the head of Sana’a negotiating delegation, Muhammad Abdul Salam, noting that the two sides discussed developments in peace and obstacles to achieving it.

Head of Sana’a delegation to the political negotiations discussed, on Saturday, with the senior advisor to the Iranian Foreign Minister in political affairs, Ali Asghar Khaji, the latest developments related to the peace process and obstacles to achieving it in Yemen, through a telephone conversation.

The Iranian Mehr news agency reported that Abd al-Salam confirmed that the ceasefire would not be extended except on the condition that obligations of the other side be completed in resolving the siege imposed on Yemen and paying the salaries of employees, referring to Sanaa’s desire to end the crisis and alleviate the suffering of Yemeni people.

According to Mehr News Agency, the Iranian official criticized the coalition’s failure to implement its commitments, expressing his hope that Yemeni resistance will eventually lead to a total lifting for the siege and the achievement of a just peace.
