Social Insurance Disbursed to more than a million Beneficiaries
The Supreme Council for Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation in Sanaa said the total beneficiaries of emergency cash transfers for social security is one million and 104 thousand and 118 beneficiaries at an amount of 35 billion riyals. They are distributed over 22 governorates and 331 districts and support about 11 million people.
The Secretary-General of the Council, Abdul Mohsen Tawoos, explained, “the exchange process for emergency cash transfers funded by the World Bank through UNICEF, it is carried out through Al-Amal and Al-Karimi Banks, in the context of alleviating the suffering of citizens from the repercussions of the humanitarian crisis as a result of the coalition war on Yemen.
He confirmed that the disbursement process will continue until the end of this month. Pointing out that “the disbursement cycle for phase 11 included all provinces in the Republic, and included beneficiaries with special needs, the elderly, among the cases approved in the statements of the Social Welfare Fund.
Tawoos referred to the efforts of the Supreme Council to simplify the exchange process by facilitating field teams for home delivery, disbursement for elderly and handicapped through fixed centers for exchange agents in all provinces.
