Detaining Omani Citizen in Marib
Tribal sources in Marib revealed, on Thursday, that Islah factions kidnapped an Omani citizen, in a move that may carry, in terms of timing, dimensions related to the Omani movement to stop the war on Yemen, which began with mediation between Saudi Arabia and Houthis, reaching to the visit of its diplomatic delegation to Sana’a.
The sources reported that Islah factions led by Muhammad Tawaf kidnapped a few days ago an Omani citizen, who also holds Saudi citizenship, called Fares, from the city center under the pretext of “his intention to go to the north to join Houthis.”
The fate of the citizen is still unknown until the moment of writing the news.
Activists on social media criticized Islah Authority in Marib, considering its steps to target an Omani citizen carrying a message to the Sultanate of Oman, which focuses its efforts to bring the points of views between Sana’a and Riyadh and an attempt to use it as a pressure card in order to search for a foothold in the political movement to push for a settlement in Yemen.
