Al-Houthi reveals latest on salary negotiations with UN

Leading Member of the Supreme Political Council (SPC), the highest ruling authority in Sana’a, Mohammad Ali al-Houthi rejected what he described as UN’s moves to serve Saudi-led coalition on the payment of salaries.

In a tweet, Al-Houthi accused the United Nations of being behind the coalition’s goal to fight the military and security institutions, noting that it is seeking to adopt a salary clause in its proposals that excludes the employees of these two institutions.

He also expressed surprise at such an item, reminding the United Nations that those belonging to these official institutions were included in the population of the Republic of Yemen and are now threatened by famine as well.

Al-Houthi’s remarks coincided with Yemeni parties continuing their meetings in Switzerland on the sidelines of a round of UN-sponsored commissions on prisoners.
