Socotra Island witnessed the incident in the eastern coast of Yemen, on Tuesday, new confrontations between Saudi forces and the pro-UAE factions amid controversy around these developments that coincides warning from new plan and Saudi pressures on Hadi to ease the coordination implications with Israel on the island.
Local source said the confrontations occurred near of the island airport where the Saudi forces stationed and the STC factions trying to control it.
These developments raised controversy among activists in social media, some of them consider it a drama to forthcoming withdraw for Saudi forces and others see that it comes in the frame of UAE efforts to complete the control over the island by expelling the Saudi forces which hand over the island in the last June to STC after forced the rest of Hadi forces to withdraw.
No matter what was the motivations of the last confrontations, its timing indicates to Saudi-UAE arrangements that the great sheikh of Socotra, Issa Ben Yaqout warned from it, and stated in a press statement to the exist of coalition’s plan to separate the island from Yemen.
Ben Yaqout revealed that the coalition has done cultural and demographic changes on the island, calling to a Yemeni support resisting the occupation before it’s too late.
On the same level, diplomatic sources revealed on Saudi pressures on Hadi to ease the implication of the foreign experts arrival to establish military bases in coordination with Israel.
The sources pointed out that the Saudi ambassador demanded from Hadi government to issue official statement from the foreign minister or through its media denying the existence of moves to establish military sites with Israel, noting that Hadi, who is previously rented the island to the coalition, is procrastinating to obtain political gains in return.
