23 new COVID-19 cases in southern Yemen, 1,015 in total

The Health Ministry in the internationally recognized government confirmed on Wednesday 23 new cases of COVID-19 in southern provinces of Yemen taking the official total number of coronavirus  to 1,015 cases.

Health Ministry said in a brief press statement that during the past 24 hours, the number of recoveries in the government-controlled areas increased to 379 since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus on April 10.

Also, the government announced that the death toll from the deadly respiratory disease climbed to 274 in different areas under its control, including the southern port city of Aden.

Hadi government called on donors and relevant international humanitarian organizations to provide support to help contain the pandemic.

Meanwhile, official source in Sana’a government said that the capital Sana’a witnessed a decrease in the outbreak of the Corona epidemic, compared to the escalating risks of spreading the disease in the countryside.
