Houthis release 70 Prisoners in Unilateral Initiative

The National Prisoners’ Affairs Committee in Sana’a released Thursday tens of prisoners belong to the exiled president Abdrabo Mansour Hadi.

the head of the Prisoners Committee, Abdulqader Al-Murtada, explained that they release 70 prisoners, all of them are sick, injured and elderly, in a unilateral humanitarian initiative. He stated that they were handed over to the local authorities in the governorates.

Al-Murtada said, “We hope from the other side to do similar steps, especially for humanitarian cases, as they are most vulnerable to be infected with Coronavirus, if it spreads.”

The prisoners exchange agreement that has been signed in Jordan last month stalled because of Hadi government delay on submitting on the list of prisoners who will be released.
