Arrangements for Resumption of Road Negotiations in Jordan
Sana’a revealed new arrangements on Wednesday, to resume negotiations on opening roads in the Jordanian capital, Amman.
This coincides with the announcement of UN envoy to Yemen, Hans Grodenberg, that his visit to the Saudi capital ended with intensive meetings, this indicates Saudi Arabia’s approval on Sana’a’s proposals to open Taiz ports.
Anssarallah movement’s Al Masirah channel quoted on the head of the military committee in charge of the roads file, Major General Yahya Al-Razami, saying that the committee is continuing to complete discussions on violations of the armistice and opening roads. Accusing the other party of trying to exploit the road file politically and for propaganda.
At the same time, he rejects practical initiatives that would alleviate the suffering in Taiz and the rest of the provinces.
The committee met earlier today with the leadership of the Foreign Affairs Ministry, the Military Intelligence and the Security and Intelligence Service to inform them on the results of Amman discussions, which expected to resume next week, according to the committee.
Earlier today, UN envoy to Yemen, Hans Grodenberg, announced on the conclusion of his two-day visit to Saudi Arabia. Referring to his meeting with the Saudi and Egyptian ambassadors, as well as the ambassadors of the five permanent members of the Security Council, as well as the Secretary-General of Gulf Cooperation and Rashad Al-Alimi, head of the pro-Saudi authority Grodenberg indicated that the discussions centered on the file of opening roads and implementing the armistice.
Despite Saudi Arabia’s statements in which it insisted on opening Taiz roads, as well as the head of the authority loyal to it, however, diplomatic sources reported the success of international pressures to proceed with the proposal to gradually open Taiz roads and start arranging negotiations for a comprehensive solution.
