Defeat of Islah Forces in Marib Ends Hadi Legitimacy: STC

Ending of Hadi's presence in Marib would lead to achieving a political solution in the country and to tackling the entire Yemeni crisis, Al-Zubaidi said.

The head of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC), Aidroos Al-Zubaidi, affirmed that the defeat of Islah forces in Marib province would end the internationally recognized legitimacy of Exiled president, Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi.

Al-Zubaidi, who is based in Abu Dhabi and Riyadh as his headquarters, considered that controlling Marib by Sana’a forces could change the political scene in Yemen.

Al-Zubaidi added, in an interview with the British Guardian, that the Saudi-backed Hadi government has no influence in the south, and its role is non-existent.

He noted that the government of Hadi was strengthening its presence in some provinces of northern Yemen, and ending that presence would lead to achieving a political solution in the country and to tackling the entire Yemeni crisis.
